You’ve become Christians? Our friends think we’re crazy!

Soon we were going to church all the time, telling everyone about it (especially me!)

It seemed the most natural thing in the world to tell everyone, but some of them thought we were crazy.

To me, if God said something in the Bible, He was big enough to do it, because He is the spirit who created everything and all things were possible for Him and some people thought we were crazy for that.

Suffice it say that we lost some friends on the way.

Baptism

We also got baptized, something which my Dad didn’t really understand as he had baptized me as a baby and he thought that was enough for me.

For me, I appreciated my baptism as a baby, but as an adult had to make a stand for my newfound faith for myself.

For me it was something that I really wanted to do because I was on fire for God.

Dave had a bit more of a struggle, as he was happy with his baptism as a baby.

He spoke to one of our church leaders about it, who told him,

“Well, that’s what we do at this church, but if you don’t agree you can go and join another church which practices infant baptism.”

In the end, we were both baptized together and it was very powerful.

One brother said that Satan had tried to drive a wedge between us in our

relationship, but God had brought us back together, which was totally true, we have never looked back since.

It is still my testimony today that our marriage would have probably ended after the first 2 years, if God had not intervened in our lives.

We have been married now for 32 years, all because our joint purpose is in God.

The strength of our marriage lies not in our own strength and capabilities, but in God’s.

My sister, Sarah said that she wanted us to grow great for God, I hope that is the case.
