The Shield of Abraham – Magen Avraham – My Shield and the Horn of My Salvation

We continue in our exploration of God’s armoury store for us, and here we find the Shield of Abraham, waiting to be used, let’s not leave it in the cupboard!

Psalm 18.2 (My Shield and the Horn of my Salvation)

Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) is my rock (Tsur) and my Metsuda (fortress) and my Savior (deliverer),
my El, El Tsuri (the Living Word my Rock) in whom I take refuge (trust),
my Magen, and the strength (horn) of my salvation,
my stronghold (high tower).

The Lord is the horn of our strength, our stronghold and our shield.

Deuteronomy 33.29 says that He is the shield of our help and the sword of our majesty.

Verse 27 says that He is our refuge and that underneath are the everlasting arms, like a great safety net waiting to catch us and support us if we fall.

Psalm 28.7

Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) is my strength and my Magen (shield).
My heart trusted him, so I received help.
My heart greatly rejoices; I give thanks to him with my song.

Jesus is our strength and our shield, when we trust in Him we receive help.

Psalm 144.2 (My Shield in whom I take Refuge)

Thank Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), my Tsur (Rock)(strength),
who trained my hands to fight and my fingers to do battle,
my (goodness) merciful one, my Metsuda (fortress),
my stronghold (high tower), and my savior (deliverer),
my Magen(shield), the one in whom I take refuge (trust),
and the one who brings people under my authority.

This verse tells us that it is Messiah Yeshua who trains our hands to fight, He is our Rock, our stronghold, our high tower and our shield in whom we take refuge.

We know that Jesus is the One who trains and equips us to fight and win spiritual battles.

There is to be no retreat, but advancement of the Kingdom of God, even when Satan tries to take us out, we are shielded by the Lord from the flaming arrows.

We can be joyful as we trust in Him.

The Lord Himself is our shield, so why should we be cast down?

Genesis 15.1

After these things the word of the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) came to Abram in a vision. He said,

“Abram, don’t be afraid. I am your shield (Magen) and your exceeding great reward.”

He is our treasured inheritance, both for now and in the future, we can access our inheritance and its benefits for use today.

God’s people are His inheritance, Jesus bought us with His blood and we are precious to Him, He protects us with His shield.

In Ephesians 6 we take up the shield of faith, which extinguishes all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

With this shield we extinguish all the lies of the enemy ranged against us in all his attacks.

God is the refuge of His anointed.

Psalm 18.30

30 As for God Elohim (the Living Word, the Many Powered) his way is perfect!
The promise (word) of Yehovah has proven to be true.
He is a Magen (shield) to all those who take refuge (trust) in him.

Psalm 28.7

Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) is my strength and my Magen (shield).
My heart trusted him, so I received help.
My heart greatly rejoices; I give thanks to him with my song.

He is your helper and your Magen (shield).
11 If you fear Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), trust Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate).
He is your helper and your Magen (shield).

He is a Sun and Shield

11 Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Elohim (The Living Word, the Many Powered) is a sun and Magen (shield).
Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) grants favor and honor.
He does not hold back any blessing
    from those who walk uprightly.

He is our Hiding Place and our Shield
