Yehovah Yireh  (Jehovah Jireh)

Yehovah is Self-Existent and Eternal.

Yireh means ”to look at or see.”

He ‘sees to it’, God will see to it or look after our need.

In our lives we have seen many testimonies of God’s provision and know that He provides for us, but always when we move in obedience to Him, without looking to our own needs.

This is a symbolic name for Mount Moriah.

Moriah means “chosen by Yehovah.”

In Paleo or picture Hebrew this name means, “My Divine Creator stretches forth His hand with such strength that He parts the veil to reveal the Divine mystery.”

Or, “to see the outstretched arm of authority bring revelation.”

If you have seen Jesus today and believe in Him, the veil has been torn for you, to reveal the mystery of His grace and salvation, which cannot come without revelation.

Salvation itself is the divine mystery, the exchange of our sins for His redemption.

Genesis 22.14

On the mountain of the Lord, it will be provided.

So Abraham called that place The Lord will Provide.

Yehovah Yireh is “God in Thorns”

He himself is the ram provided in the thicket, in the place of Isaac, the water from the Rock, and the manna and quail in the desert.

Nothing takes God by surprise, He had already made provision for us in salvation, since before the foundation of the world.

He sees and provides.

The ram in the thicket foreshadowed the provision of Jesus on the cross!

Jesus Himself wore the crown of thorns and was the perfect sacrificial lamb of God, without spot or blemish, even born in Bethlehem where the sacrificial Passover lambs were raised!

Our Provision in His Promises

He provides all our needs according to His riches in glory through Jesus Christ.

We receive His promises through believing prayer.

God’s provision is like the granaries set up by Joseph to see Egypt through the years of famine, a great storehouse to which we can go and withdraw what we need for the time.

God’s provision is represented in His promises, His Word, His gifts, not only in financial provision, but in spiritual provision and security, we are equipped with everything we need for what we need to do in serving Christ!

Just like the children in Narnia, God has given us spiritual gifts to equip us to glorify and lift Him up.

To one, He gave the sword, to another the bottle for healing, He gives us the gifts we need, as we need them.

If we know what God has laid up for us, we will have confidence in accessing it.

If we know that we have money in the bank, we have no problem with withdrawing it!

Psalm 23 Says “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”, we are fully provided for in Jesus.

Or are we to remain spiritual paupers, not knowing the spiritual resources which God has supplied us with?

Go to the word and find out, so that you might be able to draw on His promises and pray in confidence!

God’s many names point the way to God’s provision; peace, healing, protection, refuge, He has provided us with everything we need!

Such a demonstration of the goodness of God and the fulness of His plan of salvation!

Will you declare along with us, “The goodness of God in the land of the living”!?

There is no need to wait, we can access it now, coming boldly to the throne of grace, to find help in the time of need.!

For Jacob the ram became the substitute sacrifice for his Son – the ram was in the thorns – which represents judgement (From the Burning Bush) it was not consumed because of God’s mercy and so, we are not consumed when we accept His sacrifice on our behalf.

We are sinners under judgement – God was in the thorns and He provided a substitute – the perfect sacrifice – His own Son – Jesus wore the crown of thorns – God provided the sacrifice.

If Jacob had not been willing to sacrifice his son the plan for Israel could not have worked – he would not have submitted to God.

If Jesus had not been willing to sacrifice His life – the spiritual plan for salvation could not have worked –he needed to submit to God, so do we.

Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone.

We must be willing to let go of our own will and agendas and surrender to His plans, they are far better than ours!

If we have confidence in God’s provision for us, we will be secure in His provision for us and not need to fight and squabble over resources with anyone else, for He alone is our source, providing for us!

“I know the plans that I have for you” says the Lord, plans to give you a hope and a future!

Jeremiah 29.11

My plans fail, but His plans bring life both to myself and others!

Isaac & Rebekah represented a picture of the Messiah and the Bride of Christ.

Jesus and Isaac both had a miraculous birth.

Both carried the wood to their own sacrifice.

Here we see Father, Son and Holy Spirit working together to provide the sacrifice.

NT Ref: Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (John 8.58)

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13.8)

The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. (John 1.29)

The Lord will provide.

He sees, looks, beholds, shows us, appears to us, considers us, perceives and provides for our needs.

רָאָה râʼâh, raw-aw’; to see, literally or figuratively, advise, appear, approve, behold, consider, discern, enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed, indeed, joyfully, mark, meet, be near, perceive, present, provide, regard, to have respect.

He watches His children and dances with joy as He watches us.

He can shift our direction to keep us out of harm or direct us into new areas and opportunities.

Do we trust that He is for us, not against us?

Do we trust Him to re-arrange our circumstances?

He provides for what we really need.

Behold the nailed hand – The Lord will provide.

  1. So true, but I (we) am 64, and it looks that there are no plans left for me. God gave me amazing gifts and because of sins in the past , I am not allowed to use my gifts anymore …. And I don’t see any reasons anymore why I should live anymore. Don’t worry, I don’t kill myself, I am a coward to hurt myself. Time is ticking and my body ages quick , so I don’t see his plan anymore.
