Daughter of the King

Trembling and glowing,

I am transformed

Into the daughter of the King.

The Father’s heart embracing me;

Radical devotion sparks;

The daughter in me cries,

“Daddy!” in helplessness.

I will follow this love,

The One which never will forsake.

The Bridegroom yet I see,

At the table, my presence awaits.

Quaking, love embraces me

And I fall apart,

Into the arms of the One

I long to trust.

Overcoming fear has brought me here,

To my true love,

My heart’s embrace.

The Father’s protection now I know,

It endures age on age.

This poem is reflective of my baptism in the Holy Spirit.
