Today I’m going to share a couple of testimonies of God’s provision in Thailand, it’s been an important lesson to learn and recognise who our Provider is and to trust Him to provide for us.
Not greed or “prosperity”, but to meet our needs.
Tooth – Remove or Crown?
While we were in Thailand, we never used to ask for personal donations for ourselves while we were doing ministry, unless we had prayed for it, trusting God to provide.
One day David had to go to the dentists and the dentist gave him a choice of removing a tooth or crowning it.
This would have costed 25 USD to remove it or 300 USD to have it crowned, but we didn’t have the money in our budget.
The obvious choice was to have it removed, but Dave prayed to God about it and God told him to crown it, so he told the dentist he wanted to have it crowned and walked back to the church office.
As he was walking over to the church office, a Ukrainian pastor who lived in America called over to him from Big C and said that God had told him to give him 300 USD to use for his personal needs.
He had brought the money with him from America. So God had provision for my tooth before I needed it.
Money at the Airport
One day in Thailand, we were in Suvharnabhumi airport in Bangkok, getting ready to go back for a visit to England.
Our friend Joe called us and said that his wife’s mum and dad would meet us in the airport to give us something as he could not meet us himself.
In the airport his sister gave us an envelope with 200 GBP old style English twenty-pound notes inside.
They needed to be put into a UK Bank before they expired and the new twenty-pound notes came in. She said “God told Joe to give it to a Christian missionary, so it is for you.”
Do you know today, that God is your provider and that we can trust in Him to meet all our needs?
We do not need to scratch, scramble or steal from others, when we know that He is our source.
If we are doing His work, He provides for us.
