In Memoriam – Heroes of the Faith

I would like to take the opportunity today to honour some of the special people in my life, who have passed on, but influenced my life in great ways, by their example.

My Dad, Glyn Haines, was a Christian all his life, being an example of righteous, selfless living to us, I believe that this is why all three of his daughters are Christians today and serving Christ.

Prasert Kwampean, was a Thai pastor who we worked with in Thailand for many years. He was a faithful man of God.

I learnt many things from him, even though we went there to lift up and strengthen him, he taught us many things. I was always thankful for the way he was a brother to us, willing to join in alongside us in reaching out to others.

Finally, Joan and Norman Vesey, a couple we knew from the Isle of Wight, who ran a house church.

Joan was a lady so full of God, that she carried a peaceful and joyful presence of God, which I aspire to.

Her husband, Norman, was a humble man of God, with a shepherd’s heart. Blind in one eye, he served all who came to him, he took homeless people into his home to live alongside him and shepherded his flock faithfully.
