Many of us know Him as Yahweh Sabaoth, He is the game changer, the Lord of Hosts.
He commands legions of armies and causes mountains to move.
In 1 Samuel 1.3 we see Yehovah Tz’va’ot being used for the first time, in association with the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant.
And this man went up out of the city yearly to worship and sacrifice unto the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies) in Shiloh (The Place of Rest.)
He is our place of rest, we fight our battles from a place of rest in the Lord, knowing He is for us.
Trained For Battle
We call on Him when we face a battle.
If He is with us, He is all we need.
He was with David when he faced Goliath, He trained him for battle.
1 Samuel 17.37 says – The Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) that delivered me out of the paw of the lion and the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine!
“You come against me with sword and a spear and a shield: but I come to you in the Name of the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies), the God Elohim (the Living Word, the Many Powered), whom you have defied!
Can you hear the defiance in David’s voice?
David knows what God has done and that He is on his side.
He has confidence in the Word of God, and we can have that confidence too.
Leviticus 24.16 says “And he that blasphemes the name of the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), he shall surely be put to death, and the congregation shall certainly stone him!”
This is exactly what happened to Goliath!
We can come against Satan with the same confidence, overcoming by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus and the word of our testimony.
We declare the victory with boldness and confidence in the word of God, this is the whole reason that I do this blog, so that we might know the resources available to us in Christ and use them effectively!
Walk, pray and claim the victory, take the territory, for the battle belongs to the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot through His blood!
Goliath challenged God’s right to be in the land and taunted Israel, challenging their military ability, blasphemed against God and paid for it!
Ephesians 6. 11-18 tells us, “Therefore, put on the whole armour of God the Father, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind!
In Him, we are more than conquerors and Satan is underneath our feet.
1 John 5.14
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us.
Jesus is the Lord of Hosts!
Jesus is always referred to in the Old Testament as the LORD Yehovah, Messiah Pre-Incarnate, so we know that this is always referring to Jesus and He is named as Yehovah Tz’va’ot (some of us know this name as Yahweh Sabaoth or the Lord of Hosts).
In the Old Testament, we see Him speaking to and dealing with His people Israel, fighting on their behalf and also rebuking and correcting them.
If we have an impression of Jesus as being only meek and mild, we need to think again!
It is an awesome thing to fall into the hands of the Living God!
Joshua 5.14-15
And he said, No; but as captain of the host (Army) of the LORD Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What says my lord unto his servant?
Hebrews 2.10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Therefore Jesus is:
The Lord of Powers, the Lord of Armies and the King of all heaven and earth, He is in charge!
He is the Host of an organised army, host of angels, sun, moon and stars, of the whole creation.
He goes out to war, against His enemies.
He Tears Down Strongholds
Ephesians 6.12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against wicked spirits in high places.
He fights alongside us, assembles and musters His army.
He fights by our side, empowering us to pull down strongholds.
He wants us to partner with Him in opposing evil spirits, in uprooting idols and barriers to people knowing Him, by joining Him in tearing down spiritual strongholds.
As one song says, “We pull down the mighty strongholds and foolish imaginations which set themselves against the knowledge of God”.
God invites us to “clean house” with Him, just as He did with the Kings who cleared the land of idols.
We dismantle roadblocks which prevent people coming to Him, we sweep away the love of other things which draw people away from Him into deceptions.
His Protection is Our Refuge
Instead, the cross is an invitation to freedom, life and relationship with Him.
We have peace because of He is with us.
Psalm 46
The Lord of Hosts is with us.
“The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Be still and know that I am God.
He is a very present help in trouble.”
God can be trusted in times of trouble, in times of chaos.
Satan wants to bring chaos, but God brings order and peace.
“We will not fear, though the earth be removed and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”
He is our strength.
He is an ever-present help, He never abandons us.
Even though Jesus himself allowed Himself to be abandoned on the cross, He did it for us so that He could be united to us.
He requires obedience and He will be exalted, there can be no other in His place.
He protects those who believe and trust in Him.
“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.”
He is our provision and our defence in the chaos of spiritual attack.
The Spirit of God makes His people glad, because He is with us.
As an old song goes;
“Joy and gladness shall be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of a song.”
He intervenes on behalf of His people, He is on our side.
Psalm 24.10
Who is the King of Glory? The Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies, he is Melekh HaKavod (the King of Glory).
He is the King of Glory.
Psalm 48.8
As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies), in the city of our God Elohim (The Living Word, the Many Powered). God Elohim will establish it forever.
He is in the business of establishing His Kingdom, here on earth, through us, as it is in heaven.
Isaiah 5.16
But the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies) shall be exalted in justice and God-Elohim (The Living Word the Many Powered) that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
His rule and kingdom are just, as He is.
Isaiah 6.5
Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot) (of the Heavenly Armies).
He is holy, sanctifying us.
Hosea 12.5
Even the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) God Elohim (The Living Word, the Many Powered) Tz’va’ot (of the Heavenly Armies; the Lord Yehovah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) is his memorial.
Jesus is His Memorial, the Lord of Hosts
Beautiful 🙏🙏🙏👋
