This week’s blog is all about baptism in the Holy Spirit, this is my account of how it happened to me.
After my baptism, I joined the church and started going to the weekly Agape meal, which was a meeting for church members.
Every week we would have dinner and worship together.
On only my second Agape I was worshipping God in the church at the dinner table.
I suddenly became aware of God the Father looking down on me and I was enraptured in worship.
It was as if a bright glowing beam of light was shining down on me and I started to shake and tremble as God filled me with His Holy Spirit.
I was sitting under a bookshelf at the time and remember just sitting slumped in my chair, shaking, like jelly.
I was only vaguely aware of everyone else in the room around me, as my focus was completely on God.
I remember one of the leaders tried to pray for me to speak in tongues, but this did not happen at the time, but came a few months later.
This was my introduction to the Holy Spirit, feel free to share your experiences of Holy Spirit Baptism, to remember and renew your relationship with Him, or to invite Him into your heart.

Jesus promised that the Father would send the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKodesh to teach us everything and remind us of everything that Jesus had said.
The Ruach or Spirit is mentioned 389 times in scripture.
The Ruach is described as wind, direction, as a means of transport, like breath and movement or animation.
It is God’s Spirit that brings true life.
God gives His people a new mind, a new heart and a new Spirit, by putting His Spirit with us.
It was the Spirit (Ruach) that hovered over the face of the deep at creation.
Genesis 1.2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep water. The Spirit of God Ruach Elohim (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) was hovering over the water.
The Holy Spirit restores sight by waking up the human spirit when we confess.
He is also Light and illuminates the truth to us, He opens our eyes to the truth of who Jesus really is.
In the scripture above we see even the trinity clearly demonstrated, with God being described in the New Messianic Version as the Spirit of God AND Messiah Pre-Incarnate – Jesus! Hallelujah!
The Spirit awakens our spirit to recognize the truth of the scriptures and causes our heart to respond to them.
When I became a Christian, I remember everything in the Bible suddenly becoming alive.
Whatever I had read or been taught in the past, suddenly began to click and make sense, not in an intellectual way, but to resound with my spirit and I began to know in my spirit that Jesus was truth.
It was as if the pieces of a puzzle were all coming together.
Now this may not have made sense to some of my friends who knew me before I was a Christian, and I’m sure that they may have wondered what happened to me, but I had an unshakeable knowledge in my heart that this was truth.
The Holy Spirit is our helper and helps give us understanding.
I remember sitting in sermons in those times and it felt as though the Spirit was coursing through my veins, bringing me life, this was where to be to receive life! He is our comforter, counsellor and helper.
